Can you tell the people who already bought when you make something new?
If the answer is no, that is the thing to fix before anything else, and it is a smaller job than it sounds.
Everything else I teach is about launches, and a launch is just an email to people who were already waiting. Which means none of it works until there is somebody to send it to.
So this is the 7 steps to having a list of your own. It is about an hour, and at the end of it you have a sign-up form that works and the words already out in the world asking people to use it. Not a plan to do it. Done.
Kerri Robberts
I sold Swarovski crystal jewellery when I was nineteen. Hundreds of people favourited it, and I had no way of ever speaking to a single one of them again. It took me years and another business to work out that this was the whole problem, and about an hour to fix it.
Start with the first one
It takes about ten minutes and it does not ask you to open anything or set anything up.
What the 7 are
- 01
What they get for joining
The reason somebody hands over an address, which is never that you have a newsletter.
- 02
The words on the form
What it actually says, so it does not read like a mailing list nobody wants.
- 03
The card that goes in the parcel
You are already sending the parcel. This is the cheapest door you have.
- 04
One post, where your people already are
Not a campaign. One post, on the account you already run.
- 05
Open your account
The tech, and it is the short bit. Free tier, no card.
- 06
Build your sign-up page
Somewhere for the link to go, built out of what you wrote earlier.
- 07
Put it live tonight
Everything you have written comes back to you with your link already in it.
The tech is the last third on purpose. Nearly everybody who gives up on this gives up while setting something up, before they have worked out what they were going to say.
And then what
Once there are people on it, the next thing is giving them a date to turn up for. That is the launch planner, which is also free and takes one input, the day you want to launch on.
Somebody has already bought from you and would happily do it again. Right now there is no way to tell her.
