Six weeks together, and your next three dates

Before any of it, two things have to exist, and if one of them is missing then that is your actual next step rather than this.

You have not got an email list yetStart with the Handmade Launch System. Building the list is part of the method in there, and a launch to nobody is just a listing with a date on it.
Nobody is finding your shop at allInkspace List teaches getting seen and turning that into the first names on a list. Come back to this after.

Some of you will just go and do it

You have the map now, and plenty of makers will take it from here and work the rest out on their own. That is a completely good outcome and I would rather that than you buying something you did not need.

If you are the sort of person who decides on a thing and then actually does it on a Tuesday night with nobody asking, go and pick your date. You do not need me.

The rest of us need somebody expecting us

Because the part I cannot write down anywhere is somebody noticing whether you did it. That turns out to be the thing that decides whether a launch happens in six weeks or quietly slides to next season, and it is not an information problem, so no amount of reading fixes it.

So we set your date in week one and then you have me for the six weeks it takes to build the collection and launch it.

And then the one after it, which is the bit nobody does

Here is what I see happen, and it happened to me for years. You have a launch that works. It is brilliant. And then you are so wrung out by it that you do not go near another one until something goes quiet enough to frighten you, and by then you have left yourself a fortnight to do a six week job.

So one good launch becomes a story you tell rather than a thing you run. You did it once and you cannot say why, which means you cannot say when you will do it again.

Week six is for that. While it is all still fresh, before you have forgotten what worked, we put your next three launch dates in the diary and count the six weeks back from each one. You leave with a launch behind you and the next year already on a page

What you get

  • We set the date in week one. A real one, in a real diary, and everything after it is the runway back from that day
  • A call every week, right the way through the six weeks, and you are not the only maker on it
  • Your emails read before they go out. While there is still time to change them, which is the part that decides whether the warm-up lands at all
  • Launch week itself. I am there for it, not waving you off at the start of it
  • Your next three dates, set in week six. With the runway back from each one already written down, so the launch after this one is on a page instead of in your head
  • The Handmade Launch System alongside, the £97 workbook, so the method is yours to run again without me

The calls are a group, on purpose. Six weeks is a long time to be the only one doing it, and hearing another maker say the thing you were too embarrassed to ask is worth more than my answer to it usually is.

What it costs you, and when it does not work

Six weeks of planning a launch is real work, and it happens in the evenings you already do not have. If you are so buried in orders that you cannot find a spare hour, this is the wrong month for it and I would rather you said so.

It can also just not land. I have had Christmases that did not work at all. One of them had me back at the cutting table on Boxing Day, discounting the fabric the launch should have shifted, with a newborn in the house.

Nobody can promise you a sell-out and I am not going to. What I can tell you is that the sales arrive on a day you chose, and that you will know why they arrived.

And if you want money quickly, or £249 is money you cannot afford to lose, this is not the thing. I would rather say that here than take it off you.

I sold handmade for years before I taught any of this. £48,000 in my first year on two hours of sleep with a newborn, and £180,000 in my third, which came with a breakdown I would not repeat. The best weekend I ever had was £12,000 from one email, and it worked because of the six weeks in front of it rather than anything I did that day.
